PIC’S PEANUT BUTTER

During vintage I discovered PIC’S PEANUT BUTTER and what a fabulous protein boost that was to the system. The only other time I have had peanut butter pared back like that was 1997 in Burundi (another story). This peanut butter is simply Aussie peanuts roasted in Nelson with a touch of salt...look on the back labels of other brands and compare. If you are a peanut butter fan you have to get this.

Proper Crisps

www.propercrisps.co.nz

A non-conforming wine match with my 2009 Sauvignon Blanc are the addictive Proper Crisps from a group of Artisans down in Nelson. No e numbers for these guys, just type of spud and name of the fryer. Thanks Larry, your Agria crisps were divine and cut through the Marlborough acidity of my savvy with ease.

PIAKO Yoghurt

www.piakoyoghurt.co.nz

PIAKO yoghurt takes yoghurt to a whole new plain. Smooth, velvety, I could be writing wine descriptive. Adjectives won't do it service. Passionfruit was my favourite but recently the lemon curd has made the winter mornings (and nights) very bearable.

Winemakers Loft

www.winemakersloft.co.nz

We had a wonderful weekend on Waiheke Island a month ago and stayed at the lovely Winemakers Loft run by Neill and Denise Cully (Neill is the winemaker at Cable Bay). A lovely intimate setting right next door to Cable Bay vineyards and the restaurant. This made stumbling home after a stunning meal and wines very convenient. Denise’s homemade Muesli for breakfast was in itself enough to make me go back.

Thanks

I could not have done this website without the wonderful photos taken by the very talented Emma Bass (www.emmabass.co.nz). She makes me look presentable without having to pile on too much makeup – and wearing Miranda Brown's (www.mirandabrown.co.nz) gorgeous New Zealand merino wool clothes for the shoots helped set the scene. And finally, for the patience and tolerance of my website guys. FUSE!
